Subj: old Lucky's shopping site
From: Shariprater@aol.com

I hear that Riteaid is not relocating to the new Bernal plaza. I also hear that Ducket - Wilson is going to allow them, and Round table pizza to run out their lease (4 years) as theres is the longest lease remaining on the site, then flatten the entire shopping mall and put in appartments. This is to benefit the Cisco campus moving in, the housing shortage, and mass transit close to the freeway and the light rail. I thought we were promised that that wouls NEVER happen, and that Ducket - Wilson did not actually own all the properties, but that all stores owned thier own land under them. Does this mean we will continue to see the shopping mall become even more of a gost town before the property is visually acceptable. Are there any community impact studies on the traffic that will result? Also, I hear they will be LOW RENT appartments, as the Palmia has the luxery appartments handled. Shari Prater

A lot can happen in four years. Rite-Aid owns their building so I don't think they have a lease with Duckett-Wilson. Where did your information come from? Tom Wilson didn't say homes were out of the question the last time I spoke with him, but he did say that his company doesn't build homes. [SAS]
