Subj: RE: La Colina Park
From: murphysmailbox@juno.com

Howdy Neighbors!

Great news about La Colina Park! The inspection of the current renovation project is scheduled for May 21st. If the play equipment and other renovated areas pass as "safe" then the contractor may be able to remove the "construction area fencing" by Memorial Day Weekend ! Park manager, Todd Capurso mentioned that we have all been disappointed before by Public Works timelines that fell through but let's hope for the best.

Also great news is the fact that the Parks Department has already ordered 5-6 barbecue stands for La Colina. They are due for delivery on May 21st and will be installed as quickly as possible once the contractor departs.

We can finally look forward to a Neighborhood Celebration Barbecue by the end of Summer 2001...! Watch this space for more information in the future.
If *YOU* want to help plan for our well deserved celebration please contact me by Email @ murphysmailbox@juno.com.

For all who wish to participate let me know which of the following dates would work for you. Obviously we can't set a date that will fit everyone's schedule but those who give feedback now will have the most influence when a final choice is made.

Aug. 25, (Sat. before Labor Day Weekend)
    Sept. 1, (Labor Day Sat.)
    Sept. 2, (Labor Day Sun.)
    Sept. 3, (Labor Day!)

Last, La Colina Park is up for adoption! We (the La Colina Park Booster's Club, which is open to all neighbors) can combine our celebration with a short clean-up project and officially adopt our own Park. Let me know if you're interested in helping make this happen.

Your Neighbor,

Mike Murphy, Coordinator
La Colina Park Boosters Club
