Subj: Restrictions @ Santa Teresa High School
From: rmcruz@pacbell.net (Ruben Cruz)

Thank you for this forum that you have provided the Santa Teresa Community. My family and I are members of the Santa Teresa High School community, and our daughter attends ST. When the directives were received by the High School community, I was VERY concerened! I was so concerned that I voiced my opinions (opposing the directives) at the September ESUHSD Board Meeting. Approximately 30 people spoke on this issue, on all perspectives of this subject. I was pleased to see the participation that took place, at the Board meeting, and realized that the majority of the people present that night, are not in favor of the directives. That all concerned, want to come to a compromise, not elimination! It was agreed upon that two Board members would meet with representatives from the community and High School to go over the impact of activities effecting both the school and the community. I feel that there are no "bad guys" in this whole situation, just a lack of communication. The interested High School community and administration need to come together, and discuss all aspects of the usage of ST facilities.

I left the Board meeting with the understanding that a forum was going to be provided to this, and it would take place soon. The sooner the better, so that a more agreeable solution for all concerned can take place.
