Subj: Neighborhood Playgrounds From: LEANNMAC@aol.com I live in the neighborhood at the end of Cottle Road near the hills. For me, we are missing a couple of important neighborhood resources, one of which is a playground for our children in walking distance to our homes. There are plenty of playgrounds at least a mile away from home so on a long day at home, we can walk two miles round-trip with our 3-year old to play at a park, or we can get in a car. However, I would love to see a playground in walking distance. The best location I have spotted since so little open space has been preserved in our area is in the corner of Bernal/Joice Ranch in front of the lovely walkway that has been built. I realize that this is a historic site which is being renovated with hard-to-come by dollars and that it's on the site of Santa Clara County Park land. The good news is that it's park land and it's open space. Is anyone else interested in seeing a playground built in walking distance to our homes towards the end of Cottle road at the hills. Any other ideas for a location? Any ideas on how to make the above idea work? A hopeful resident... Leann Cherkasky Makhni |
