Subj: Coyote Valley Development Feedback From: jeff.benoit@juno.com How many times do we have to say NO before they respect our request? So far the voice of our community has gone ignored. It's a common fact that Enron/deregulation is responsible for the power problems we had. I have not had the time to research it, but I am willing to bet Calpine was behind the power crunch as well, since they had/have a vested interest in making sure Coyote Creek becomes a sewer of pollution so their shareholders can gain a percentage point. Calpine is yet another example of how the people’s voice is becoming less and less a concern of the corporate oligarchy currently in control of OUR COUNTRY. Yes, I am part of corporate America, but when children’s (i.e., peoples) health are put at risk by my company’s actions, I speak out against it. If it's war we need to wage to stop the building of the power plant, then let's wage it. The Japanese take strong measures to thwart its government’s disregard and disrespect for the voice of the people, and it may be time for us to do the same. Yes, I may sound a bit radical, but hey, the building of a horribly polluting plant so close to where I live has me, and my neighbors, very upset. I did not buy a home here to have the likes of RonG/GDavis and the CEO of Calpine come along and turn my backyard into a cesspool. Who the hell do they think they are? I WANT THEIR HEADS ON A PLATTER! I am outraged over this. Tell me what to do so I can stop this amoral attack on our human rights? Jeffrey Benoit |
